Grants and Fellowships
The NSF, through its Graduate Research Fellowship Program, provides three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based master’s or doctoral degrees and is intended for students who are at the early stages of their graduate study. Submission deadlines for this award are in early November. Multiple students are supported by this prestigious predoctoral fellowship.
The NDSEG Fellowship is a highly competitive fellowship awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines. NDSEG Fellowships last for three years and pay for full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend, and up to $1,000 a year in medical insurance. Several students are supported by this prestigious predoctoral fellowship.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides predoctoral research training fellowship awards to promising doctoral candidates who have the potential to become productive, independent investigators in research fields relevant to the missions of participating NIH centers. The Graduate Awards in Brain Science recognize outstanding and productive mid- to late-stage PhD candidates conducting brain science-related research in a Brown graduate program. Awards cover full costs for two academic semesters plus one summer. Awards also provide $3000 in additional support for meeting travel, workshop registration, or research costs.
