Outreach

Neuroscience graduate students organize and are involved in a numerous and varied outreach activities to share knowledge of the brain and neuroscience with the community.

Brain Waves RI (BWRI)

Co-founded by Brown University researchers and faculty, BWRI develops free educational programs that make brain science fun and accessible to all Rhode Islanders. Participate in The Brown Brain Fair and join 20+ labs, organizations and institutes to showcase research in fun and family-friendly ways. Or, visit a local K-12 school, to teach about core functions of the brain and inspire awareness and interest in science.

The Bioluminescence Hub

This group uses bioluminescence as a model to develop interdisciplinary resources and education outreach events for all educational levels and backgrounds. Become an official Junior Trainee of the NSF NeuroNex Bioluminescence Hub team, and help create experiences that give students the opportunity to observe glowing creatures and materials, and learn how bioluminescence can illuminate paths of discovery in the brain.
